SellFable City ‘Circuit Circus’ premieres in TETEM’s medialab in March

3 March – 1 May 2016

Opening with a performance by the artists: Sunday 13 March at 3 pm

With ‘Circuit Circus’ multidisciplinary artist and archivist Daniël van Nes is bringing his dark realm of SellFable City to life. The installation is shown in TETEM’s medialab for the first time. Machine Bugs, Machine Relic Boxes, Virtual Reality, drawings, illuminated engravings and soundscapes invite you to plug in from the real to the virtual and mysterious world of SellFable City.

Sketch Daniël van Nes: Circuit Circus Charging Carrousel in which the visitors can plug into the SellFable City

Take a trip to Sellfable City, a living, breathing, machine world thriving on the energy of its peculiar inhabitants.  Like an ink stain, it slowly creeps into our realm. The SellFable City Archivist collects, researches and archives information about this mysterious city. Evidence of its existence has been found and recorded worldwide, in the streets of cities such as New Your, Berlin and Rotterdam.

Circuit Circus is a SellFable City Charging Carrousel. This installation is used by SFC creatures to donate their life energy to the machine city. Visitors can plug in from the real to the virtual world and plunge right into SellFable City. No time to waste: you become the circuit. Get lost in the Circus… Artefacts in the shape of Illuminated Machine Relic Boxes and Electric Machine Bugs await.

SellFable City is the brainchild of multidisciplinary artist Daniël van Nes. The Circuit Circus soundscapes are created in collaboration with composer and drummer / percussionist Friso van Wijck.

Circuit Circus will premiere in TETEM art space in March 2016. |
